Joining Lithos

Who can apply?
Lithos is for professional businesses in the mineral trade: mines, exporters, importers, wholesalers, manufacturers, lapidary workshops, retail dealers, fossil preparers and museums. Individuals trading as a business are welcome; anonymous accounts are not.
How long does verification take?
Most applications are reviewed within two working days. If your organisation uses a domain-matched Google Workspace account, approval can be instant. Manual reviews may ask for a registry document, domain confirmation or industry reference.
Is there a cost to join?
Joining and maintaining a verified profile is free. Lithos charges a transaction fee only when a sale is completed through the platform.

Buying and selling

Can I list material for sale?
Yes, once your organisation is verified. Only sellers set prices; buyers pay the agreed price through Lithos. You can also respond to published buyer requirements.
How do buyer requirements work?
A buyer posts what they need — material, quantity, delivery terms and budget. Sellers with matching material can propose an introduction. The buyer sees only the information the seller chooses to share until they accept the introduction.
What payment methods are supported?
Lithos handles card payments and bank transfers through our integrated payment provider. Funds are released according to the trade terms agreed in the deal room.

Trust and privacy

Will my existing customers or suppliers be visible?
No. Your existing commercial relationships remain private. Lithos only introduces new contacts when both parties give explicit permission.
What do the trust levels mean?
Trust levels reflect verified identity, organisation checks and trading history on Lithos. They are earned through conduct and history, not purchased. Higher levels receive greater visibility and recommendation weight.
How are disputes handled?
Either party may voluntarily submit evidence — photographs, shipping records, correspondence or documentation. Lithos stores this securely and uses it to influence trust signals. We do not determine legal ownership or liability.

Account and data

How do I delete my account?
Verified members can request deletion from the Account page. We apply a 30-day grace period in case of tax or trade-record obligations, after which personal data is removed in line with our privacy policy.
Can I export my trade records?
Yes. Organisations can request an export of their deal rooms, messages and verification documents from the Account or My Business sections.
